- Afterword: A Year Removed
I am fairly sure that the title I just wrote will ban all German robots from entering my website.
Tübingen, Germany
I am staying in a small German college town called Tübingen with a friend from Northwestern, who has been here all year studying abroad. She has a small dorm apartment right in the center of the old part of town here… if you had reloaded the old homepage enough times you will see the town’s webcam shot, half-timbered fortresses and all.
The computer here will automatically log me off in five minutes, so I have to be quick. Strasbourg came and went, a bit underwhelming but a nice jaunt into Alsace, one of my favorite regions of France. I had a nice daytrip to Colmar, where I scoped out a bunch of 500-year-old religious art and treated myself to a tarte flambé, a regional specialty… a thin pizza with smoked ham, onions and yogurt… no tomato sauce. Tangy and delicious.
Friday, I went on the Kronenbourg brewery tour, birthplace of French piss beer. The French probably have as much business making beer as the Russians do airplanes. Well I gotta jet, but I will update more and better later, when I am not being threatened by Windows XP.
